Now that the weather is getting cooler, we can opt for outdoor activities and know we’ll head home energized and cozy instead of exhausted and sweaty. Fall hiking, biking, and adventuring are my favorite things. The summer heat takes so much out of me that once fall hits, I feel like I can just go-go-go. However, that means I need to be properly dressed.
Today I’m sharing the best activewear for fall that I have in my closet. These aren’t items you would necessarily wear to the gym or out on a run but they’re perfect for exploring the outdoors. I’ve been a fan of LL Bean and Eddie Bauer for a long time but this post also features a new to me brand from Target: All in Motion. Their tops are perfect.
Tip: Look for moisture-wicking fabrics.
Cotton fabrics hold moisture and keep you chilled. Synthetics will wick away sweat and allow you to stay dry and mobile. When buying outdoor/active apparel I always check that the fabric doesn’t include any cotton fibers. All the items below fall in this category. I’ve worn the Eddie Bauer Pro Pants in 90 degree heat with 100% humidity, so I swear by those.
Tip: Opt for stretch and layers.
I like looser clothing in the fall because I’m typically doing more moving around and often, I’m bundling up. I love slipping my Trail Tights under my Pro Pants or throwing on my LL Bean Sweater Fleece when things get chilly. Extra layers means extra warmth and more time outside in the elements.
A note on fit: all items run TTS. I wear a 2-4 in pants and I am a small in the Trail Tights and a 2 in the Pro Pants. All tops are a small.
I can’t recommend all the linked items above enough. I hope this post helps you out, if you’re looking for some new activewear for fall.
