Book 50: The Glass Hotel

One of my goals for 2020 is to read more. What better way than to commit to reading one book a week? 52 books in 52 weeks and I’ll be sharing every single one on the blog, every Sunday. Check in for my latest reads and recommendations.

I thoroughly enjoyed “The Glass Hotel.” First, Mandel is an incredible writer. Her text flows and engages the reader like few others do. Second, the multiple characters and realities she portrays are gripping, honest, and imaginative.

“The Glass Hotel” weaves together multiple character journeys that collide as a company is found guilty of running a Ponzi scheme. The jumps in timeline are fascinating and revealing and overall, Mandel’s story is well plotted and paced.

I highly recommend this read and will be looking into more of Mandel’s texts myself.

Wirth Rating: 4.5/5

I read this one- it was great, but strange with the time jumps and time travel subplot.
I read her first novel, station eleven, which was just as odd. She certainly can write, though!
